1987-88 North Mesquite High School Girls Basketball

The 1987-88 North Mesquite High School girls basketball team was a force in Texas. Led by 2019 Hall of Honor inductee Coach Donna Capps, the Lady Stallions were the undefeated district, bi-district, area and regional champions that year and finished with a 36-1 record as they lost to Duncanville in the state championship. Their success on the court was equally matched off the court as the entire team was on the honor roll and boasted both the homecoming queen and student body president. All five starters and several others from the team earned college scholarships and went on to play at the collegiate level.
