Amy Hooks built an exceptional softball career that began at North Mesquite High School and continued through the collegiate, professional, and coaching ranks. A three-time All-District 12-5A First Team selection, Hooks was named District 12-5A Offensive Player of the Year in both 2004 and 2006 after leading the district in batting average with marks of .600 and .594, respectively.

At the University of Texas, Hooks emerged as one of the nation’s top players. In 2011, she earned Big 12 Player of the Year honors and was named to the Easton All-America Second Team, All-Big 12 First Team, NFCA All-Central Region Second Team, and Big 12 Player of the Week. Her collegiate accolades also included selection to the 2010 All-Big 12 Second Team and the 2009 Academic All-Big 12 Second Team. Following her standout college career, Hooks played professionally in the National Pro Fastpitch League and became an advocate for the growth of women’s softball. Today, she continues to inspire the next generation of athletes as a coach at Lamar University and through softball camps conducted across the country.
