North Mesquite High School Athletic Trainer
Dennis Hart has been recognized at the district, state, and national levels for his outstanding contributions to the athletic training profession. As chair of the founding committee of the Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association (TSATA), he helped shape the organization’s foundation and later served on the TSATA Concussion Legislation Task Force in 2011. Hart also co-authored Texas House Bill 2038, known as Natasha’s Law, which established current standards of care for secondary school athletes who suffer sports-related concussions. His numerous honors include induction into the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame (1998) and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame (2012), as well as recognition as the Texas High School Trainers’ Association Athletic Trainer of the Year (1998). He received the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award in 1999 and was recognized by Mesquite ISD through the Apple Corps for educator excellence.
