Mesquite High School Head Basketball Coach/Admin
Ross Hall dedicated an extraordinary 61 years of service to Mesquite ISD as an educator, coach, administrator, and mentor. Before transitioning into district administration, Hall spent 26 years coaching basketball, including nine seasons as head boys basketball coach at Mesquite High School from 1976 to 1985. During his coaching career, he compiled an impressive 436-264 record and earned the respect of colleagues across the state for building disciplined, hardworking teams that consistently competed at a high level. His teams were known for their determination and relentless competitive spirit. Following his coaching career, Hall moved into administration and eventually served as principal of Mesquite High School. Throughout his tenure, he remained a steadfast supporter of Skeeter athletics, working tirelessly to ensure student-athletes and coaches had the resources, encouragement, and support needed to suceed.
Even after retirement, Hall’s impact continued as he devoted more than two decades to recruiting outstanding educators for Mesquite ISD, many of whom went on to become coaches and leaders throughout the district. He believed deeply that the success of student-athletes began with exceptional teachers and role models in the classroom. Through his unwavering commitment to hiring quality educators to serve Mesquite ISD students, Hall left a lasting legacy that extended far beyond the basketball court and positively influenced countless students and educators throughout the district.
